Many travelers have experienced the panic of realizing their hotel room might not be as clean as it seemed. One simple trick can save you from a big headache: placing your luggage in the hotel bathtub. While it might feel unusual, this small step protects your belongings from dirt, accidents, and even bedbugs.

 

Bedbugs are notoriously sneaky, often hiding in mattresses, headboards, or curtains. They love to hitch a ride on suitcases, backpacks, and clothes. By keeping your luggage in the bathtub, a smooth, cold surface far from the bed, you minimize the risk of these pests invading your belongings. This also gives you a chance to inspect the room thoroughly before unpacking.
