During a patrol, I noticed a white coffin in the middle of the road: I called for backup, slowly opened the coffin, and saw this inside…

During my morning patrol on the highway, I noticed something strange. The empty, straight road stretched for many kilometers, and suddenly — right in the middle of the asphalt, in the far-right lane, stood a white coffin. At first, I thought it was someone’s cruel joke.

Dozens of questions ran through my mind: who could have left it here, where did it come from, and what was inside? At first, it even looked like a large plastic container. But the closer I got, the clearer its contours became.

It was a coffin. White, lacquered, with metal handles. I slammed on the brakes, turned on the flashing lights, and stopped a few meters away.

My heart started racing uncontrollably. — “Base, this is 12. I have… a strange discovery.

There’s a coffin in the middle of the road. I repeat — a coffin. Requesting backup.”

— “12, copy.

Are you sure? Maybe it’s just a shipment, something fell?” — the dispatcher’s voice sounded confused. — “Looks far too… out of place.

There’s nothing around, no cars nearby. Waiting for colleagues.”

I got out of the car, approached the coffin, and examined it closely. There were almost no traces around it, just faint lines, as if it had been dragged or slipped off a vehicle.

About five minutes later, I saw the flashing lights of the approaching patrol. The car stopped a few meters away, and two officers got out. — “What the hell do we have here?” — squinted one of them, inspecting the find.

— “It was standing right on the road, as if someone deliberately placed it,” — I replied. The other officer walked around the coffin and tapped the lid with his knuckles. — “Heavy… But something tells me there’s something inside.”

We exchanged glances.

Normally, you would document the find and wait for the forensic team. But something urged us to open it immediately. — “Carefully,” — said my partner.

I approached from the other side, placed my hand on the lid. The mechanism was stiff, the hinges creaked. I lifted it slowly.

And seeing what was inside, I took a step back in horror

Inside, there were no fabrics or wreaths. Just rows of black garbage bags, neatly stacked. One was torn, and white powder spilled out.
